David Brookover
David Brookover’s photography career first began over 30 years ago in Japan. In his 15 years of living in Japan, he not only shot for landscapes for Mamiya Corporation and Fuji film but photographed theatre with world-famous models/performance artists like Yamaguchi Sayoko. In 2001, David followed his dream and moved to Jackson Hole with his wife Yuko, where they opened The Brookover Gallery which has flourished in downtown Jackson for the past 19 years. Those who have visited the gallery are familiar with David’s traditional landscape photography which specializes in handcrafted platinum-palladium, silver-gelatin, and photogravure printing methods.
Now at the peak of his career, equipped with the most cutting-edge technology, David is revisiting his passion for portraiture and is excited to be teaming up with Ashley Smith to form Brookover/Smith Wedding Photography.
Combining David’s expertise and unparalleled eye with Ashley’s award-winning style, their goal is to deliver the most exquisite photographs for your big day. As Ashley works in color and David with black and white, rest assured their two perspectives will ultimately showcase your special day in the most professional manner. In addition, as it is well known that David works with some of the best traditional printers in the U.S., he will be offering beautiful one of a kind, handmade photographs (platinum/palladium and silver-gelatin) for clients upon request. Ashley Smith
Ashley Smith is drawn to people who march to their own beat and love without limits. These couples are the perfect match for Ashley’s style of photography - warm, adventurous, filled with natural light and organic posing. She shoots with intention but not with too much seriousness. Ashley has been published in multiple magazines and wedding sites, and has been highlighted by The Huffington Post, as Junebug Weddings recently nominated her as one of the Top Destination Photographers worldwide in 2019. Her love for the mountains and for people is what drew her to photographing weddings, and is proud to be working alongside David Brookover in order to capture every breathtaking moment for her clients. For every wedding, her mission isn’t to capture just the visual aspects but what you two feel while experiencing it. She sees beauty in every moment of your wedding day and believes they all deserve to be documented.
