David Brookover’s work is an inspiration to me. With influences from Japanese art and his love of the craft, from the photographic process to the printing and materials he uses, he has created a beautiful and impressive body of work…

40 Years in A Nutshell…

Since 1988, David Brookover has been contributing to the art of photography in more ways than one. From his time at Fuji Film in Japan where he mastered the craft of capturing an image to his persistent execution of 19th-century printing processes including silver gelatin and platinum/palladium printing, David has created one of the largest and most unique collections of traditionally printed photographs in the country.

The Brookover way is a myriad of influences, materials, and techniques combined to make a one-of-a-kind piece each time. Watch David sit down with Ted Forbes to talk about his photographic journey in the Art of Photography channel’s “The Artist Series.”

ELEGANCE IN IMAGERY

We at The Brookover Gallery believe that photography should be acknowledged and accepted equally with its peers in the world of fine art. This is why respect for historical processes, carefully chosen printing techniques, attention to the finest quality in image capture, and world class framing became the foundation upon which our business was built. Our collectors know that when we say it’s a darkroom print it truly has been printed by a traditional printer with years of experience and know how in a darkroom using their skills and techniques acquired over many decades.   These printers are listed in our partners section of this website.

BRICK AND MORTAR.

Although we display images on our website we also understand it's impossible for our clients to compare a digital reproduction to a handcrafted, custom-framed photograph under ideal gallery lighting. If you've been to the gallery you'll instantly know the difference, likewise, if you're planning a visit you’ll be in for a pleasant surprise. Brick and mortar, it's what separates galleries and museums. The Brookover Gallery has been doing this since 2001 here in Jackson Hole and we look forward to meeting new prospective buyers, sharing stories, and serving the needs of our clientele for years to come. Wooden floors, soft music, and personal service with a 5-year-old Australian Shepherd/Border Collie mix, Peyote, and his little sister, Chai, a 3-year-old Red Heeler/Border Collie mix. It doesn't get much better than that.

All the best,

David
